Exterior and interior designs for a solar car. In addition to having the car look and feel like a contemporary sports sedan, the car also needs to include additional features  exclusive to solar cars. This included a  large solar array on the rear of the car, covered wheels and a small frontal area for aerodynamic efficiency.

The car interior contains features found in all road cars such as cupholders and entertainment system.

Covers for new car headlights created from cut-outs of the carbon fibre shell.

A outlet for 2 USB C ports for charging phones for the rear seat passengers. Besides the usual design requirements of being user friendly and aesthetically pleasing, extra support is needed to be added to the inside of the cover to prevent the cover from deforming under the Australian desert heat.

I have been involved in the Solar car team at the University of New South Wales for 3 years, representing the university and team at a international level in the World Solar Challenge. Over that period of time, I have been involved in working on 2 solar cars. This included retro-fitting a existing car for road legality and comfort as well as designing and building a car from scratch.
